Caitlin Clark’s Unstoppable Streak Comes to a Shocking End Against Minnesota Lynx!

Caitlin Clark’s winning streak in Minnesota came to an end on Saturday night as the Minnesota Lynx secured a 90-80 victory over the Indiana Fever, marking their sixth consecutive win.

Clark, fresh off breaking the WNBA record for most assists in a rookie season, delivered a solid performance with 23 points, marking her 13th game this season with 20 or more points. However, the 2024 Commissioner’s Cup champions were unstoppable from beyond the arc, sinking 11 three-pointers, six of which were made in the first quarter.

Saturday’s game was Clark’s first loss in Minnesota since beginning her college career. During her time with Iowa, she had an unblemished 6-0 record at Target Center, winning the 2023 and 2024 Big Ten tournament titles. Including her three road wins against Minnesota in college, she had gone 9-0 in the state. Her streak extended to 10-0 when Indiana defeated the Lynx on July 14, but it was finally snapped on Saturday night.

Indiana and Clark struggled in the first quarter, missing all seven of their three-point attempts, while Clark went just 1-for-8 from the field. Meanwhile, Minnesota was on fire, hitting six three-pointers to build a 13-point lead.

The Fever turned things around in the second quarter, seemingly unable to miss as Clark began to find her rhythm. They closed the half on a 21-9 run, capped by a trademark Clark three-pointer in the final seconds, narrowing the gap to just one point at halftime.

Minnesota, however, regained control in the third quarter, scoring on their first five possessions and opening the second half with a 16-5 run.

Indiana made several attempts to close the gap, reducing the deficit to just three points at one stage. But Minnesota responded each time, extending their lead to as much as 15 points, and maintained their advantage for nearly the entire game.

Napheesa Collier led all scorers with 31 points for Minnesota, sealing the victory.
