The 2024 Little League World Series concludes on Sunday, featuring the championship and third-place matches that will mark the end of this prestigious youth baseball event.
Chinese Taipei and Florida are set to face off for the championship at Lamade Stadium, following two contrasting victories on Saturday. Chinese Taipei secured their spot with strong pitching and solid defense, earning a 4-1 win over Venezuela. This victory puts them in contention for their 18th LLWS title as the representatives of the Asia-Pacific region.
On the other hand, Florida’s journey was more dramatic. After trailing 4-0 and 7-5, they rallied to defeat Texas 10-7, thanks to a thrilling four-run surge in the sixth inning. This comeback could give Florida the momentum they need to finally clinch a championship. Although this marks the ninth time a team from Florida has reached the LLWS Championship Game, they have yet to secure a first-place finish, having finished as runners-up in all eight previous attempts.
Before the championship match, Venezuela and Texas will compete for third place, with the game kicking off the day’s doubleheader.
